West Sussex Country House with Asian treasures.
With Lucy’s background in History of Art, Studio Clark + Co were appointed to create a comfortable home incorporating a subtle Asian aesthetic, while sensitive to the location and original Arts and Crafts architecture and later additions.
With generous proportions and good guest and recreation accommodation, the brief was to create understated elegant spaces for relaxed family living while creating a backdrop for the clients’ extensive collection of antique rugs, works of art and sculptures.
A new kitchen was designed with a classic contemporary country vibe while the furniture was chosen to bridge the theme as well as fabrics and wall coverings which were used to weave a subtle Asian thread using paisleys, ikats and block prints.
A bespoke bar was designed in the dining area for entertaining and rich blue and block print sofas with pops of yellow cushions and ottomans add comfort and style to the TV room. The master suite showcases a stunning handprinted De Gournay plum blossom wallpaper on both the bespoke headboard and dressing room joinery.
